As a Senior Propulsion Certification Engineer, you will work directly with propulsion engineering and mission management teams to support critical flight systems certification activities. The certification team is responsible for ensuring that Impulse builds the processes and systems the government customer will review to evaluate Impulse’s mission readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Develop systems to document Impulse / customer interactions and feedback, and track customer approval and acceptance
  • Work with propulsion engineering team to build and optimize engineering process flows for customer deliverables
  • Analyze government and commercial customer requirements and standards to determine compatibility with Impulse product lines
  • Perform specialized analysis in support of verification activities; lead or participate in tests and demonstrations in support of requirement verification, including joint testing with customers
  • Interact directly with customers to describe propulsion devices and their function, answer customer technical questions independently
  • Support launch and mission operations, as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the aerospace propulsion field
  • Prior experience working directly on liquid propulsion systems: design, manufacturing, analysis, and testing.
  • Proficiency in basic principles of fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics and materials
  • Demonstrated ability of taking project ownership and working collaboratively

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication skills and desire to attain highest levels of customer satisfaction
  • 2+ years of experience with any of the following: requirements development, requirements verification, engineering design, hardware production, test and evaluation, test plan and procedures development, NASA or USSF certification of spacecraft and launch vehicles, NASA or USSF engineering standards
  • 2+ years of experience in at least one of the following disciplines: design engineering, mission management, production and test, launch and mission operations, flight testing, systems integration and engineering, or project management

  • Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
