As an Accounting Manager at Impulse, you’ll be a key player in building a strong financial foundation, ensuring accurate reporting, and implementing efficient processes. This is a hands-on role with high visibility and the opportunity to shape the accounting function from the ground up. You’ll take ownership of the accounting function today—and grow into a leadership role as we scale. Reporting To

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of day-to-day accounting operations, including:
    • Journal Entries and Reconciliation
    • General ledger management
    • Monthly/quarterly/annual close processes
    • Bank and account reconciliations
    • Expense reporting and payroll oversight
  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Prepare and timely review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with GAAP
  • Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with leadership.
  • Implement new accounting systems, tools and processes to support scale.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial insights and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with the Controller, who currently oversees AP/AR and Payroll. In the future it may lead to those functions transitioning under your management as the company grows and your leadership responsibilities expand

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting
  • Hands-on experience with monthly close and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar) and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CPA, or working towards CPA
  • 5+ years' background in public accounting (Big 4 or regional) combined with industry experience, preferred
  • Prior startup or high-growth company experience, preferred
  • Familiarity with implementing systems and scaling accounting operations, preferred

Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
